National Control Centre

The National Control Centre is the heart of Slovenia’s electric power system. Its operators ensure the reliable transmission of electric power and the balance of the electric power system 24 hours a day, every day of the year.

The operators in the National Control Centre and three regional control centres in Beričevo, Nova Gorica and Maribor manage and monitor the Slovenian electric power system. With a better monitoring of the network and the application of more accurate data, the operators can more optimally manage the electric power system under normal operating conditions, and also more easily manage it under critical circumstances.

Due to time constraints in the decision-making process, the operators in the National Control Centre have full authority for implementing any measures to prevent malfunctions from spreading or complete system loss. They work 24 hours a day, every day of the week, to provide an uninterrupted supply of electrical energy.
